Clock Synchronized Switching Regulator

Focus:

One of numerous circuits presented in Linear Technology Application Note 61, "Practical Circuitry for Measurement and Control Problems". This particular circuit is a variation on the gated-oscillator switching regulator that synchronizes its loop oscillation frequency to the systems clock. This step makes the oscillation frequency and switching noise coherent with system operation.

What you’ll learn:

  • How to synchronize a gated-oscillator switching regulator to a system clock
