Using a Current Mode PWM Controller in Voltage Mode

Focus:

Although PWM controllers with current-mode control are more common than those with voltage-mode control, voltage-mode control is recommended under certain application conditions. For these cases. it's possible to configure a current-mode PWM controller to operate under voltage-mode control.

What you’ll learn:

  • How to operate a current-mode PWM controller in voltage mode
  • How to configure the UCC2808A controller to operate in voltage mode without adding many components
  • How to know when to apply voltage-mode control
