Sensorless Control For PMDC Motors

Focus:

A motor-speed control technique enables permanent magnet dc (PMDC) motors such as those used in appliances and power tools to be controlled without requiring Hall effect sensors or other signal generating devices.Technique uses a measurement of load current to determine the voltage that should be applied to the motor in order to maintain the desired speed.

What you’ll learn:

  • How to regulate the speed of PMDC motors under varying loads without Hall effect sensors
  • How to regulate speed of PMDC motors using load current measurement
