Automatic Routine Speeds Power-Supply Calibration Focus: Analog Devices’ ADM1041 secondary-side power supply controller and power management IC features an SMBus interface , which can be used to electronically trim power supply timing and voltage parameters. Trimming power supply parameters in software (digital power management) rather than manually results in more accurate, reliable and repeatable calibrations and also shortens calibration time. To take advantage of this capability, the company has developed a software routine and interface hardware that automates calibration of power supplies based on the ADM1041. The calibration routine is described here.
What you’ll learn: - How to electronically calibrate power supplies using the ADM1041 secondary-side power supply controller
- How to perform common-mode or current-sense trim, load-voltage trim, and share-
bus trim in ADM1041-based power supplies
