Answering your Questions about Power Design

CPLD autonomously powers battery-powered system

Focus:

For battery-powered systems that require sampling of a variable at regular intervals (such as wireless data acquisition systems), a CPLD-based timer circuit will power the system on and off at the programmed time intervals, conserving energy and extending battery life in the application.

What you’ll learn:

  • How to save battery power in data acquisition systems by powering the system up and down at programmed time intervals.
  • How to add a power on-and-off timer to CPLD-based data acquisition systems
