Voltage timer monitors line-connected ac loads

Focus:

A simple circuit consisting of an optoisolator, a counter, and passives measures the time that an ac load is energized. Example uses would be to track usage and power consumption of well pumps, water heaters, furnaces, air conditioners, or other ac-powered loads.
