Wide range 400W L6599-based HB LLC resonant converter for PDP application

Focus:

A reference design is presented for a 400 W ac-dc power supply, which was developed to power a plasma display panel (PDP) application. The design consists of three stages---a front-end PFC pre-regulator based on the L6563 controller, a resonant half-bridge converter based on the L6599 controller, and a 7-W auxiliary flyback converter based on the VIPer12A off-line primary switcher. The reference design includes schematics, bill-of-materials, board design, and performance data including efficiency, thermal, and harmonics measurements.

What you’ll learn:

  • How to build a 400 W ac-dc power supply for plasma display panels based on a half-bridge resonant converter
