Digital Resistor Sets Operating Power For Laser Driver Focus: A photodiode is used in a power-control feedback loop to compensate a laser driver for temperature and aging effects. However the photodiode's response varies up to 40%. This circuit uses a digital potentiometer and op amp to make the control current produced by the photodiode linear. The digital resistor changes the power set-point in response to temperature.
