Flyback Converter with No Snubbers

Focus:

In flyback converters, transformer leakage inductance and stray circuit capacitances cause ringing, which can damage the FET and produce EMI. To counter these effects, the ringing can be damped using an RC snubber and/or the voltage on the drain of the FET can be clamped using an RCD clamp.
