Answering your Questions about Power Design

0.5 W Non-Isolated Constant Current LED Driver

Focus:

A design based on the LNK302PN LinkSwitch-TN chip implements a universal-input, 12.9-V 40-mA output constant-current power supply for driving LED lamps such as night lights, neon-sign replacements, and emergency exit signs. This nonisolated buck-boost converter design requires only 9 components. The schematic shows this design powering three LED strings with four LEDs per string. Also see "1.25 W Non-Isolated Constant Current LED Driver" from same vendor.

What you’ll learn:

  • How to build a universal-input, 12.9-V 40-mA output, nonisolated power supply for driving LEDs
  • How to build a power supply for LED lamps used in night lights, neon-sign replacements, and emergency exit signs
