Compare: Wireless power technology Focus: This blog entry provides an overview/update on the various wireless power standards and proprietary systems that are currently in the marketplace. It comments both on technical and market issues relating to adoption of wireless power technology. In terms of the technical, it provides a brief comparison of the technical differences between the various approaches including a chart that lists the frequency bands for the five different wireless power standards/proprietary systems as well as other characteristics such as frequencies used for communications, degree of coupling between Rx and Tx coils, and spatial freedom. Another chart compares the impact of each frequency band on compliance with emission standards, efficiency, and cost. The author gives his assessment of the technical and business merits of the different approaches.
What you’ll learn: - How to understand the differences between various wireless power standards/proprietary systems
