SiC, GaN And Si Power Semiconductors Received Special Attention At IEDM

The IEEE International Electron Devices Meeting (IEDM) is considered the pre-eminent forum for reporting technological breakthroughs in the areas of semiconductor and electronic device technology, design, manufacturing, physics, and modeling. IEDM is the flagship conference for nanometer-scale CMOS transistor technology and much more. At the recent 2014 edition of this conference, power devices were among the topics receiving increased emphasis. The power devices discussed at IEDM not only encompassed silicon and compound semiconductors but also a wide range of voltage ratings to address even some of the highest-power applications.
